The address for Zetrex resolves to a machine in United States. Players far from there should expect a longer round trip, which usually shows up as delayed block breaking rather than as a disconnect.

Is Zetrex free to join?

Yes, joining Zetrex costs nothing beyond owning Minecraft. Some servers additionally allow offline-mode accounts and some do not — the server decides that, and we do not resell anything.
